Comedy, Karaoke, Elections and plenty of events in the JCR!

Social Events

Hustings (JCR Candidates’ Speeches, with an opportunity to have your questions answered after) for your next Female Sports Representative and AV Technician will be in Cartmel’s JCR at 19:30 tonight!

Mondays at Revolution are Bail Out nights – themed around the stock market. During Bail Out, drinks prices crash and drop, these changes being announced through the night via Facebook and Twitter. £2 Entry, free buses back to campus from 02:30 – 03:30. Purple offers: 30% off food, two-for-one deals on “Favourite” cocktails.

SAVING THE ARTS: On Tuesday, at 18:00 in the GeorgeFoxBuilding’s Lecture Theatre 1, is an Emergency General Meeting concerning the Arts at LancasterUniversity, following the announcements that Lancaster’s Music Degree Scheme will not be continued after the 2012-13 academic year. Battle of the Bands Final, 19:00 in Barker House Farm

Each Tuesday at Hustle is another VODKABull Tuesday: a themed night, incorporating a Cash Giveaway. There are free buses from the Underpass at 22:45, 23:10, & midnight, and from Hustle from 02:30 onward (until around 03:30).

Gaming Day – Come down to Cartmel JCR at noon and join in with LUGS as they bring assorted consoles (PS3, PS2s, an Xbox and a Wii) and games for all tastes. Free your inner gamer, and spend an hour (or the whole day!) playing games with us. There’ll be music to suit all tastes and it’ll be a fun day for everyone.


… And in the evening, there’s another Comedy Barn Night in Barker House Farm! This time, you’ll get to see Tom Craine and special guest, Matt Forde! Tickets will be being sold soon for £3, and the event is taking place from 20:00 onward.

Tonight is Film Night! Details of what films are to be shown are to-be-confirmed.

Luting Fan (International Officer): Wednesday 10:30 – 11:30 in the JCR Office

Salman Rukhsar (President) and Becky Milsted’s (Vice President) informal office hour: Sunday 16:00 – 17:00 in The Winning Post, Cartmel’s bar.
