Cartmel A’s
A general idea as to pre-season training will be a taster session. Unfortunately I don’t no definitive dates so I will have to update you at a later date. Last season was a very successful campaign with a thumping 4-0 win over Lonsdale. Our form continued with a draw against County and a cracking 5-3 win against Bowland! Unfortunately mid way through the season the form drastically fell! We couldn’t get a win anywhere with losses against Pendle, Fylde and Lonsdale. We finished the season in an unjustified 6th position. Our greatest success came in the Patriots Cup beating Furness 5-2 and also more importantly in the inter-college cup where we went on to beat Pendle in the final 2-0. We also did fantastic in the Summer Cup losing in the final to County. We had some fantastic performances throughout the season and that wasn’t just on the pitch lol.
We want to encourage as many people to join in at freshers as we have lost 3 players to the uni team and have the Inter-College Cup to defend. Patrick Leathem Cartmel A’s Captain

Cartmel College Football B Team 2011/2012
Captains: Phil Flenley and Chris Gibbon
Info: 1 training session on the Astroturf and 1 fitness session per week. Usually 1 Inter College League match on a Saturday or Sunday as well as Cup matches. There is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to schedule all the games and trainings around your work. First Years in particular – FOOTBALL IS YOUR MAIN PRIORITY!
Last Season’s Memories: Playing for this team was an unbelievable experience at times last year. Highlights include regular banter between all squad members, regularly beating the As in training, an epic goal fest against Grad (Cartmel Old Boys) and beating Furness on penalties in the Patriots Cup footy/”mankini”/boozing match!
Socials: We make sure we have a good time off the field and this year plan plenty of socials including: a Christmas Meal/Night out, Awards Dinner, St Paddy’s Night out, FA Cup final night out, Champions League night out as well as birthdays and joint socials with the A and C team and the Netball Ladies. The Fresher’s Week social will prove to be one of the wildest nights of your life and one we encourage all members of Cartmel Football squads to get involved with!
