Women’s Pool
One sport in the inter-college George Wyatt cup is pool and each college has a ladies’ pool team as well as mens’ teams! There are nine girls on each team and our matches are played at 7pm on a Wednesday. Each girl plays a game (a frame) of pool against a girl from another college whichever team wins the most frames over all wins. All the games tend to be over by 10pm so it’s only three hours a week (plus any time you want to practice) and we have great fun at the same time, with plenty of socials!
Last year cartmel’s ladies pool team came third in the league which we were very pleased with, but this year we have lost all but one of our players so we are having to build a team from scratch.
Although some colleges take ladies pool very seriously (Bowland), in Cartmel we would rather have fun and make some great friends, that win some trophy. For that reason we don’t expect you to be good at pool, or even know the rules, if you want to join! We will teach you everything you need to know and make sure you have some brilliant socials as well!

Oh and in case you are worried, we aren’t scary and butch; we like to bring a little class and femininity to pool
