Mens’ Football

Cartmel has three men’s football teams- As, Bs and Cs.

As

Hi Cartmel, I am Alex Taylor, captain of the Cartmel College A team.

I study Geography and I am in my 3rd year at the university.

If you want to play football and represent the college next year then you should come to trials and training for the Cartmel A/B team.

Matches will be played on Wednesdays and training will take place twice a week; one session for fitness and one session for ball work.

Bs

Hi! My name is Matthew Acs and I am the captain of the Cartmel B football team.

I am now in my third year and I was the captain of the C team last year.

The football teams are a really good bunch of people and it’s a great way to meet other Cartmelians!

We tend to have quite a few socials throughout the term which are always a good chance to let off some steam and the league is always really competitive. If you think you might be interested in playing football then there will be trials in Freshers’ Week and even if you don’t think you are that good it is well worth coming down anyway just to find out.

If you have any questions then feel free to add me on Facebook. Thanks guys!

Hey Cartmel, my name is Tom Hall and along with Matt Acs I am a B team captain. I am a Sociology student in my final year at Lancaster.

College football is well worth participating in and is great on a social level as well as just for sport. For anyone interested, trials will be held in Freshers’ Week so hopefully we will get as many people down as possible to create three quality, competitive teams for the season ahead.

If anyone has any questions etc they are welcome to message me on Facebook. Also extra info can be found on the Cartmel College football Facebook group. Cheers!

Cs

Hello fellow Cartmelians.

I’m Kamran Baqai, and along with Joe Bibby, we are the captains of the mighty Cartmel C team.

I’m a 3rd year Psychology student. Unfortunately I support Bolton Wanderers but that does not necessarily mean I’ll do a bad job of co-captaining the Cartmel C team. Joe Bibby on the other hand takes Maths and is a 2nd year.

We would love to welcome you to the Cartmel football C team. We train once per week, on Wednesday at 5-6pm starting the week after Freshers’ Week. Our training sessions are open to all Cartmelians of all ability and usually take the form of small-sided games. We play our matches on weekends.

For further info join the Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/cartmelfootballc1314. We hope to see plenty of you down at training!

Joining is a great way to meet new people and try a competitive sport!

Training is atleast once a week with matches against other colleges.
